Stop Paying Bills! ::

(Matthew 21:33-46  Pastor Neuendorf) Like the wicked tenants in Jesus' parable of the vineyard, we would love to be out of debt. We don't want to owe anything to the owner of the vineyard. Many people think they can do this by making "payments" on their debt to God, little gestures of obedience. But there is only ONE way for us to get out of this impossible debt.
Leading Our Children to Christ ::

(Ezekiel 18:1-4, 25-32   Pastor Wentzel) The Israelites complained that God was unjust, that he punished the children for their father's sins. In many ways we do suffer for the sins of our parents. But there is more that parents can hand on than just sin.
God's Living Letter ::

(2 Corinthians 3:2-3 - Pastor Wentzel with James and Christel Neuendorf) "You yourselves are our letter..." As our congregation sends our James and Christel as missionaries, they serve as a letter from us to tell the world of God's love. God has a letter in your life also - he is writing a letter through you that may be read by everyone around you.

(Genesis 50:15-21 - Pastor Neuendorf) Last week Jesus challenged us in the Gospel lesson to go to the one who has sinned against us and show him his sin in order to regain our lost brother. But how can we be reconciled to someone who is already dead? How can we deal with the sins we inherit?
What Would Jesus Do? ::

(Matthew 18:15 - Pastor Neuendorf) Jesus tells his disciples how to reconcile with those who have sinned against them. But what did Jesus himself do?

(Matthew 16:25 - Pastor Wentzel) Is Jesus using reverse psychology on us? What does it really mean to save or lose our lives?
Christ the Glorified ::

(Romans 11:26 - Pastor Wentzel) The Church often talks about Jesus being glorified and seated at the right hand of the Father. But what practical effect does this have for us? Perhaps more than you realize.
Days of Opportunity ::

(Isaiah 56:6ff - Pastor Neuendorf) Do you ever wish that you'd been born in a different time - one of those times when you could have been a part of making history? Actually... you have. Just as God announce through Isaiah, he has given us amazing opportunities to bring the Gospel to the nations and reshape the world.
"Practically Preaching Impracticality" ::

(Matthew 14:13-21 Pastor Neuendorf) "They don't need to go away. You give them something to eat," Jesus said. Now THAT'S impractical and unrealistic. As a pastor I have been accused any number of times of being unrealistic for asking people to do what God commands. But is God unrealistic - or do we lack faith?
"Love That Is Vulnerable" ::
Tuesday, July 29, 2008 :: Administrator Account:: 0 Comments ::

(Romans 8:28-39 Pastor Wentzel) We all know that if we love something that we are going to be made vulnerable. But is that true of God also? Could love make the all-powerful creator vulnerable?
