Greetings!

I saw the quilt Mrs. Pastorino has been putting together for our auction project and it is beautiful! Now we need your help before assembling the book that goes with the quilt. Please send in the full name (not just Papa or Grandma) of the person whose material is in our generations quilt and a picture of that person, preferably with the student. No, you will NOT get the picture back. The students will be typing a short paragraph about the person on Tuesday and need the correct spelling! Thanks.

In Science and Computer classes we have been working on some terrific power points about habitats. They are so great I want you to be able to see them, so I will have them going on the LCD projector before and after the PTL dinner on Monday, March 2nd; 5:45-6:25 p.m. and for ½ hour after the dinner. Please, plan on stopping by the room to see your child’s work.

Independent Reading requirements for this quarter include a mystery book report due February 19th; and mobile book report due March 26th. The goal for Accelerated Reader book points is at least 6 for this quarter.

WELCOME TO

4TH GRADE

2008-2009

“Oh the Places

4th Graders Will Go

It is my philosophy that parents and teacher work together as a team, to help your child grow             academically, spiritually, physically,                and socially.   In doing this, your child will excel to be the

  “best they can be.”

This year students will be working on RESPONSIBILITY. Students in 4th  grade will be expected to be responsible for themselves; their behavior and their homework.  Your encouragement and support is necessary to help your child grow up to be a responsible child of God.

This is going to be a GREAT

Year traveling with Jesus!

October 1, 2007

Greetings:

Fall has arrived and I hope you were able to enjoy the beautiful weekend with your family.  Our fall poems should be finished and hung up this week to read.  Try to stop by and read them.

October 2nd, Tuesday, is the last day to turn in the Fantasy book report.  Remember our goal is to read 4 “just right” books a quarter.  This is mid-quarter and you should have at least 2 books recorded in your reading folder by this week.

Mid-quarter reports will come home on Friday, October 5, 2007.

We are getting into a routine in 4th grade.  Students are doing a good job writing down assignments and finishing them on time.  Parents, please remember to check over the assignment book and sign them.  For the 1st quarter I am asking parents to check the assignment book and sign it everyday.

Remember the fantasy book report form is due October 2nd.  Students should be keeping a record of the books they read in their folder.  Accelerated Reader goal points for 1st quarter, for each child are 5 points.
